CAMALIGAN RIVER PARK

If you're a nature lover, you won't want to miss out on Camaligan River Park - the hidden gem of Camarines Sur! This linear park, also known as Camaligan Wharf, offers a peaceful retreat from the chaos of everyday life. Situated right next to the tranquil waters of the Bicol River, it's the ideal spot to relax and recharge. And what's more, it's the only park located within the municipality of Camaligan.

The Department of Tourism Region V and the Local Government Unit of Camaligan, Camarines Sur teamed up to create an incredible outdoor space. This park was made possible through the Bottom-Up Budgeting Program in 2015. Originally known as the Camaligan River Cruise Park when it launched in June 2014, it underwent renovations starting in 2016. It's grand reopening in 2017 was a massive success, drawing in a large number of visitors.

 

This site has deep historical roots dating back to 1868 when it was believed to be the landing spot for the first 6 Daughters of Charity nuns. The original dock or wharf was made of hardwood, but it was later replaced with concrete in 1968. In recent years, the site has undergone significant upgrades and beautification, leading to its transformation into the enchanting Camaligan River Park. Visitors can now enjoy the park's modern facilities and striking illumination.
